Half-board HolidaysIn the laid back environment of Mas des Grand' Terres, the same warm welcome for new guests as old friends, breakfast and dinner prepared using the freshest of local and home grown produce and plenty of house wine to wash dinner down with... this must be the one of the most relaxing ways of holidaying in Provence. Food and wine have always been a passion for us. We love to cook and eat and drink with friends. Our ingredients are either grown in our vegetable garden, or sourced locally from the fantastic range of suppliers in this fertile, foody corner of France. Our house wines are a locally produced full-bodied, rustic, fruity Côtes du Rhône red and a bright, crisp Rosé. We provide breakfast everyday and dinner on six evenings a week. Breakfast consists of fresh fruit, juice, coffee, tea, cereals, yoghurt, bread and home-made jams. Lunch is up to you. You don't have to eat out however, as you have complete access to a fully equipped kitchen in your accommodation. So profit from the great cheese, olives, dried sausages, fruit and vegetables available at the local markets to stock up for a few poolside lunches. (We've even got a fridge down beside the pool to save that 30 metre (100ft) walk back to the house for a cold drink! Dinner is usually a 3-4 course, “table d’hôte” style meal. The evening starts with aperitifs and nibbles and dinner is always accompanied by our house wine. Guests who wish to raise the standard of the wine (perhaps a bottle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape might set off a Provençal “Daube”?) might wish to consider an accompanied wine tasting expedition at the beginning of their stay to lay in a stock. This can be arranged either in advance or upon arrival. Because of the temperatures in high summer, it should be noted that, in the height of summer, dinner is usually eaten late, beginning around 8.30 and progressing slowly from then on. One evening each week is our evening off. On that night, guests generally choose to eat out at one of the area’s many fine restaurants and we can help with recommendations and reservations. Alternatively, some choose to stay back at the Mas. In which case, (for a small additional fee) we can provide a selection of goodies for you to barbecue. Of course, you can also stay self-catered with Maison d'Être Holidays and still take advantage of these services on an ad hoc basis during your stay. See - Price List |
