This is ideal country for independent explorationIf you're a walker, or cyclist or just out and about in your car, Provence has plenty to offer - stunning scenery, history piled up in layers, colourful and fragrant flora, artisan food and wine makers and always somewhere good for lunch! To help our guests discover this, we are gradually building up a set of self-guided walking and cycling routes and motor itineraries that are free to borrow at Mas des Grand' Terres. In addition, we are happy to discuss ways in which we can offer additonal support to walkers and cyclists - perhaps drop offs and pick ups at route start/finishes? Picnic lunches? Contact us to discuss your needs. WalkersPlease note that whilst in Spring and Autumn this is ideal walking country, by the time summer comes along the full heat of our summer months (often over 35º in the shade) makes walking challenging. Add to this that large tracts of the countryside are off-limits during June, July and August because of fire risks. So we strongly recommend walkers to avoid the months of the high summer and take advantage of the quieter, less busy months of the year. CyclistsYou make your own breeze as you go along so the sun's not quite the issue that it is to walkers! However, we can also reassure leisure cyclists that the cycling routes that we have developed take advantage of the quiet back roads that criss-cross our region, often shaded by rows of lime trees and not infrequently running alongside cool irrigation canals. For both leisure cyclists and their more serious bretheren, we can arrange hire of good quality, well-maintained bicycles for whatever duration you require. |
